HIV Media Communication
for Australian Young People
Welcome to
the Effective
communication about HIV/AIDS/STD in young people research
project !
In the absence of a vaccine and cure
for AIDS, educating people on how to protect themselves from infection
is one of the most potent strategy in preventing the spread of HIV.
HIV/AIDS/STI education can be presented in many ways and put across by
many forms of media.
Our research group at
the Faculty of Health Sciences in the University of Sydney are
conducting a survey concerning the role of media in communication and
education of young people about HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), AIDS
(Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) and STI (Sexually Transmitted
Infections).
The main purpose of this study is to examine the most
appropriate media to communicate with and educate young adults in
Australia about HIV/AIDS/STI in different situations.
The study is being conducted by Mr. Abdalvahed Razaghi and will form the
basis for the degree of PhD under the supervision of Dr. Ian Hughes,
Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University of
Sydney.
