SoftwareThis drawer of the project planning tool box contains comments about various software packages. These are personal opinions of the various contributors, and do not reflect any endorsement of any product for any specific purpose. Like some others I used NUDIST for my PhD, and I now belong to two teams using N-Vivo for qualitative research projects. I also use
Microsoft Project, and for several years I taught project planning using Microsoft Word templates which I developed. About
4 years ago I evaluated a few shareware planning tools for student use. None of these software tools remove the need for a deep understanding of the action research process. In my experience, action research
projects often involve double-loop learning / paradigm shift / thinking outside the square on the part of co-researchers or
participants (I know these are not the same - what happens in different action research projects is not the
same). The only software Ian Hughes (2001) |
