EXSS Sharepoint Troubleshooting

Q. I click on the EXSS Sharepoint link but I only get a 'You are not authorised to view this page' error (i.e. no 'Authentication Required' dialog appears).

A. Check that your Browser has its proxy correctly configured (Note: the manual proxy setting WILL NOT WORK).

Open Internet Explorer

Go to the Tools menu and choose Internet Options

Click on the Connections tab and then click the LAN Settings button that appears in the lower half of the window

Tick the second box that says Use Automatic configuration script and enter the following address:

 http://www.usyd.edu.au/proxy.pac
 

Then click on OK and OK

Q. I enter my USYDnet User Name/Password in the 'Authentication Required' dialog and I get a 'You are not authorised to view this page' error.

Q. What is my User Name/Password?

A. EXSS Sharepoint uses the EXSS domain User Account for authentication  (i.e. the Account/Password used to log on to the workstaions in the EXSS domain), the USYDnet account WILL NOT WORK.

All EXSS staff and postgrad research students should have a EXSS domain account.
